A month live with no forms and owners often say it was wasted. Do not tear the site down. Split these five: cannot find, cannot understand, will not trust, cannot stay, nobody follows. Mix them and only change the hero — you will never aim right.
Another case: the site looks like a template anyone can buy. Professional buyers skip it. An inquiry door exists; nobody fills it. See A Template-Looking Site Is Almost as Bad as Having None. Treating the site as a digital card — no product pages or compare — also means “look and leave.” See Digital Business Card vs Inquiry Engine.
Diagnose with real data: which pages hold people, where they came from, where they left. Do not add a carousel by feel. Expired content also drives people away. See If Nobody Updates It, Is a Website Still Worth Building.
Without analytics every argument is a guess. Install visit stats and read a week of sources and landing pages. If daily visits are near zero, have sales print product URLs on cards and signatures, and check robots, ICP, and titles that are only the company name. If visits exist and forms are zero, walk it on a phone: does the first screen state the business, is the form buried under a hero, does submit error. Many “no inquiries” are forms failing in WeChat’s in-app browser, or a tax-ID required field.
Follow-up speed matters equally. No reply in two working hours and a night lead is taken by a competitor the next morning. Role mailbox, WeCom bot, or CRM — pick one. Someone must be on duty. When DaXi takes an old site we run these five checks before a redesign, so budget does not go to unrelated visuals. To review a live site together, go to the corporate website service page, or read Redesign the Old Site, or Rebuild It. Turn the path into a system: How a Website Turns Strangers Into Inquiries You Can Follow.
Compare competitor pages: does the first home sentence include a product word, where is the form, do certificates open. Do not copy the look. Admit where they have less friction. If your site needs three extra steps to reach a person, fewer inquiries are not unfair. Changing the path is usually cheaper than a new visual.
If ads suddenly hit the site and convert poorly, check whether the landing is the home page. Campaigns should land on the matching product. Pour every dollar into home and even a good site looks like it “has no inquiries.”
More calls than forms means the page is readable but the form is hard, or buyers trust the phone more. Catch both and log the source so you know what to change.
List a week of exit pages. You often find people leave on About or a huge image page. Shorten it or add an exit button. Do not let the story interrupt the action.
