A template mini program is almost as bad as none

Group-buy, live and distribution sit gray and unused, while the reporting and redemption you actually need are missing. That mini program signals you are just getting by. Serious users treat it as not built.

“We have a mini program” is sometimes self-comfort. Customers open it and see: home carousel is a stock gallery, the grid’s group-buy / live / distribution are all gray “not enabled,” and the only tappable items are support and About. Clerks need to redeem and cannot find a code. Employees need to report and have no entry. The shell does not say “we are online.” It says “we bought a package to get by.” Serious buyers and the floor treat it as not built—because you showed it and it cannot survive a tap.

A mini program built on real trades and redemption—not a grayed-out package grid
Gray buttons hurt more than a blank. A blank at least looks unfinished. A grid that will not open tells people your bar is low. Users came to finish a job. An entry that cannot survive a tap maps straight onto your lead time and quality.

The fix is not a fuller industry template. Return to the job: which three things must this role finish on the phone. Employees: tasks, scan, submit. See Employee features people will actually use; members: code, coupons, orders. See What belongs on a member mini program home; stores: redeem and reorder. See How to design store redemption and reordering. Four buttons that work beat twelve gray icons.

A template you cannot change will keep charging maintenance

Templates usually make colors easy and flows hard. You need “redeem first, then deduct the punch card; no cross-store.” The package can only issue a coupon first. If it does not match the floor, people walk around the system. A finished product that misses the floor is the same class of problem as buying SaaS that misses the business. Brochure mini program versus work tool. See Brochure mini program versus a work tool. If nobody uses it after launch, first confirm taps do nothing. See Launched, unused: how to diagnose.

DaXi does not reskin a template and call it custom. If you only need a campaign page, we will say H5 is enough. See Is H5 enough on its own; if you need redemption and reporting, the tappable path goes into the plan. Go to the Apps & Mini Programs and bring screenshots of the current mini program. How to pick the main entry. See Mini program or APP as the main entry.

Another way to spot a template: whether buttons and the back office share one glossary. The floor says “punch-card redeem”; the template says “redeem coupons.” You need “order by warehouse”; the template only has “add to cart.” Tap a gray item and a dialog says “contact the vendor to enable”—the capability is not yours. Feed that shell a year, pay the fee, work still lives in the group. Suppliers need settlement; a template will not give you a variance sheet. See How supplier orders and settlement should run.

A fake signal hurts more than a blank because you chose to show it. Customers or franchisees who open a row of gray live and distribution map that casualness onto lead time and quality. Step one on a template: turn off unused modules, delete fake campaigns, keep only a booking or lookup that actually runs. Few and true looks more like a company that is operating than full and gray.

Turn unused modules off first. Few and true looks more in business than full and gray

The template’s “enable live now” will sell you a yearly fee for a module you will not use. Turn it off. Then see what the floor actually taps. A paid module is not a business module. If you must go live quickly for a bid, a minimal mini program that can submit an inquiry or a booking beats presenting gray distribution. Evaluators can tell “few and true” from “full and fake.”

Whether the template account and code sit under the company should be accepted the same way as a domain. When the package stops, the entry dies with it. That is asset control, not a tech preference.

Bring screenshots of the current mini program. We will redraw the tappable path

Turn the gray grid off first. What must redeem, report or book becomes a button that runs—not another fuller industry template.
