SimtoLink: An offline charger creates an open item on the platform

June 7, 2026 DaXi Technology

An international EV charging network covers charging piles, charging stations, OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), OCPI (operator interconnection), power billing, charging orders, and other scenarios. DC fast chargers (DC 50–350 kW), AC slow chargers, and charging stations deployed overseas by multinational charging operators must stay in real-time contact with the charging operations platform and the payment system. An international IoT SIM is the core connection for charging piles and must support multi-country coverage, real-time sync of charging orders, and payment compliance.

Overview of international EV charging networks

SimtoLink provides professional international IoT SIM plans for multinational charging operators, charger manufacturers, and automakers. SimtoLink international IoT SIMs cover 200+ countries and regions and 600+ operator networks, support both eSIM and physical SIM, and fit charging piles, station gateways, and similar devices. One SIM is used in many countries, so a charger deployed across borders does not need a local SIM swap. This meets the real-time needs of OCPP messages such as StartTransaction, MeterValues, and StopTransaction.

Typical use cases and connectivity needs

An international EV charging network covers DC fast charging, AC slow charging, charger operations, and other scenarios. Different scenarios have different requirements for real-time performance and data volume:

DC fast chargers and ultra-fast station equipment must stay in real-time contact with the charging operations platform and the OCPP management system, to protect the user's charging experience. An international IoT SIM keeps the charger connected, supports real-time power monitoring, billing calibration, and charging-reservation return, and meets interoperability standards for national charging infrastructure (ISO 15118) and charging-operator SLA requirements.

International data demand and usage

In an international EV charging network, average monthly data use per device is about 100–500 MB per month. Data use comes mainly from charging orders and power-billing reports; interaction with OCPP and the charging platform; and charger status and fault alerts. Charging is concentrated in time and chargers are dispersed, so a 20%–30% margin is recommended.

SimtoLink international IoT SIMs support shared data pools. Sharing a pool across many SIMs handles multinational charging operators with many chargers and large swings in per-SIM usage. The management platform provides data statistics by country and by site, and alerts for abnormal usage.
