SimtoLink: Smart locks upload unlock records

November 17, 2025 DaXi Technology

International smart locks (Smart Lock) cover remote unlock, fingerprint recognition, temporary passwords, cross-border property, unlock records, Bluetooth keys, NFC, and related scenarios. Smart locks that multinational developers, property companies, and short-term rental platforms (such as Airbnb) deploy in various countries must communicate in real time with headquarters and the property platform (PMS). An international IoT card is a core component of smart-lock connectivity and must meet requirements such as multi-country coverage, financial-grade security, and 7×24 availability.

1. Overview of international smart locks

SimtoLink provides international IoT card plans for multinational developers, property companies, and short-term rental platforms. SimtoLink international IoT cards cover 200+ countries and regions and 600+ operator networks, support both eSIM and physical SIM, and can fit smart locks and similar devices. A private APN, an IP allowlist, traffic encryption, and other security measures provide reliable protection for international smart locks. The plan matches smart-lock needs such as low-latency unlock commands (under 3 seconds), offline cache, and tamper alerts.

2. Typical applications and connectivity needs

International smart locks cover remote unlock, fingerprint recognition, temporary passwords, cross-border property, and other scenarios. Real-time performance and security differ by scenario.

A smart lock (gateway type or cellular type) communicates in real time with the lock management platform (SaaS) over the international IoT card. It supports remote unlock (one tap in an administrator phone app), real-time push of unlock records (time and user ID), and remote authorization (adding or removing user permissions in bulk). When an international hotel group deploys locks across hotels in many countries, the international IoT card keeps every lock online so the headquarters security operations center can see abnormal unlock events worldwide (forced entry, door left open for a long time). Unlock-command latency is required to be under 2 seconds, and the international IoT card prefers a low-latency 4G connection.

3. International data demand and usage

In international smart locks, average usage per device is about 10–50MB per month. Usage comes mainly from unlock commands and authorization, from unlock records and alerts, and from interaction with the property platform. Locks are numerous and each card uses relatively little data, so a shared data pool is recommended.

SimtoLink international IoT cards support a shared data pool. Multiple cards sharing one pool can serve a multinational developer across countries and projects. The management platform provides usage statistics by country and project, and alerts on abnormal usage.
