SimtoLink: Radios use a nationwide push-to-talk bundle

A flow meter is a sensor instrument that measures liquid or gas flow and converts that flow into an electrical signal. It is widely used in smart water, energy metering, industrial process control, fertigation, drip irrigation, and sprinkler irrigation. Together with pressure gauges and temperature sensors, it can monitor pipelines and process equipment more fully.

Use in IoT solutions

In an IoT solution, a flow meter uploads flow data to the cloud over a wired link (RS485 or industrial Ethernet) or a wireless link (Wi-Fi, LoRa, or NB-IoT) for remote monitoring, cumulative metering, leak detection, and irrigation-volume control in fertigation. Combined with pressure gauges and machine learning, it can locate network leakage. In precision agriculture, flow meters support precise water use for drip and sprinkler irrigation. SimtoLink can provide network access, data processing, and API integration for flow meters.

Installation should respect straight-pipe requirements and flow direction, and should avoid bubbles and debris. Regular calibration protects measurement accuracy. Corrosive or high-viscosity media need a dedicated model. An IoT platform can record calibration history, set threshold alerts, and generate water or gas reports. For fertigation and drip irrigation, a flow meter working with EC, pH, and soil moisture can support precise irrigation decisions.
