SimtoLink: Parcel lockers sync which doors are taken

September 16, 2025 DaXi Technology

International smart parcel lockers (Parcel Locker) cover pickup codes, door-open records, POD (Proof of Delivery), pickup points, compartment management, inbound and outbound handling, and related scenarios. Smart parcel lockers and pickup-point devices that multinational couriers and e-commerce companies deploy in various countries must communicate in real time with headquarters and the locker platform (LMS). An international IoT card is a core component of locker connectivity and must meet requirements such as multi-country coverage, 7×24 high availability, and real-time performance.

1. Overview of international smart parcel lockers

SimtoLink provides international IoT card plans for multinational couriers, e-commerce companies, and locker operators. SimtoLink international IoT cards cover 200+ countries and regions and 600+ operator networks, support both eSIM and physical SIM, and can fit smart parcel lockers and similar devices. One card works in many countries, so a locker deployed across borders does not need a local SIM swap. The plan matches locker operations such as pickup-code checks, real-time compartment-status sync, overtime reminders, and overdue-parcel handling.

2. Typical applications and connectivity needs

International smart parcel lockers cover pickup codes, door-open records, POD, compartment management, and other scenarios. Real-time performance and data completeness differ by scenario.

When a courier deposits a parcel, the locker reports the deposit event (compartment number, tracking number, and parcel weight) to the locker management platform over the international IoT card. The platform immediately generates a pickup code (6–8 digits or a QR code) and pushes it to the recipient by SMS or app. After the recipient scans or enters the code, the locker verifies it in real time over the international IoT card (latency required to be under 2 seconds) and opens the compartment electrically. Overdue parcels automatically trigger a renewal or return flow. The international IoT card keeps the locker talking to the platform so a compartment is not occupied for so long that turnover suffers.

3. International data demand and usage

In international smart parcel lockers, average usage per device is about 50–200MB per month. Usage comes mainly from pickup codes and door-open records, and from interaction with the locker platform. Lockers are numerous and each card uses relatively little data, so a shared data pool is recommended.

SimtoLink international IoT cards support a shared data pool. Multiple cards sharing one pool can serve a multinational courier across countries and sites. The management platform provides usage statistics by country and site, and alerts on abnormal usage.
