SimtoLink: Kitchen-exhaust monitors send a reading every 15 minutes

July 6, 2025 DaXi Technology

SimtoLink’s environmental monitor combines PM2.5 and PM10 (particulate matter), temperature and humidity, noise, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), CO2, and other sensors. It is used for indoor air quality (IAQ), outdoor dust, and environmental monitoring on construction sites. It supports Modbus, 4G, and LoRa output, and can connect to an environmental platform and an LED display.

Multi-parameter monitoring and specifications

The PM sensor uses laser scattering. Compared with the infrared method, accuracy is about five times higher, response is fast, and stability is good. SimtoLink’s environmental monitoring has been used in schools, hospitals, office buildings, construction sites, and other places, with more than 5,000 units deployed, helping customers meet environmental supervision and health-management needs. The approach also emphasizes laser-scattering PM measurement, IP65 outdoor protection, and multi-protocol output over Modbus and 4G.

SimtoLink environmental monitors come in several specifications by application and measured parameters. Typical PM2.5 and PM10 range is 0 to 1,000 μg/m³, depending on the model, for indoor IAQ and construction-site dust. Temperature is −40 to 80°C and relative humidity is 0 to 100 percent RH, for indoor and outdoor environments, equipment rooms, and fresh-air and air-conditioning linkage. CO2 is about 400 to 5,000 ppm, a typical IAQ range that can be extended, for classrooms, office buildings, and fresh-air and ventilation strategy. VOCs and TVOC depend on the sensor and are at ppb level or an equivalent index, and are optional, for IAQ, renovation, and odor monitoring. Noise is 30 to 130 dB(A), for construction-site environmental protection and noise supervision. Formaldehyde is optional, by electrochemical or other methods, for renovation checks and medical and clean environments. Output supports Modbus, 4G, and LoRa. Power is DC 12 V or solar. Protection is IP65 on the outdoor model. An external display is supported. Over-limit alarms and linked control are supported. Measured parameters can be selected as needed, and SimtoLink provides parameter-selection guidance and sensor calibration.

Typical applications

From classroom IAQ to construction-site dust control and clean environments in hospitals, the monitor covers environmental monitoring and control in many industries. A school deployed monitors in 30 classrooms, showing PM2.5 and CO2 in real time and linking the fresh-air system, which improved indoor air quality and protected the health of teachers and students. A construction site deployed dust monitors. PM10 and noise data are uploaded to the environmental platform in real time, meeting supervision requirements, and can be linked with the spray system for automatic dust suppression. A hospital deployed monitors in operating rooms and the ICU to measure PM, temperature and humidity, and CO2, protecting the medical environment and meeting cleanliness requirements. An office building deployed 100 monitors for zoned air-quality monitoring and optimized air-conditioning control, and employee satisfaction rose.

Selection, deployment, and maintenance

Indoors, choose an integrated multi-parameter model (PM, temperature and humidity, CO2, and VOCs). Outdoor dust needs PM10 and noise. Where environmental reporting is required, choose a model that supports the national-standard protocol. SimtoLink provides environmental-platform integration so data can be reported to local environmental authorities. Where there is no mains power, choose solar plus 4G. Where a local display is needed, choose a model with a screen or an external LED display. PM sensors should be calibrated about once a year so the data stay accurate. Outdoor units need the sampling port cleaned regularly so it does not clog. When buying, state the measured parameters, the installation environment, and the platform to connect. The recommended sequence is requirements research, parameter selection, site installation, platform integration, and regular calibration. Where environmental reporting is required, the protocol must be compatible with the platform. SimtoLink provides calibration and environmental integration to meet supervision, supports multi-parameter monitoring and LED display, and can provide calibration and data-reporting services.
