Kandiantong: WeChat Pay and Alipay can both be turned on
APP payments need the mainstream channels so they match user habits. According to data from Analysys and other institutions, WeChat Pay and Alipay together account for more than 90% of mobile payments, so both are required channels. UnionPay QuickPass covers users of bank apps, and some scenarios include subsidies. Apple Pay gives iOS users a convenient way to pay, and some higher-end users prefer it. Kandiantong supports connecting these mainstream payment methods for e-commerce, retail, food service, and similar scenarios.
Merchant qualifications and signing up
Choosing a payment method depends on target users' payment habits, each channel's fee rate (usually around 0.6%), the settlement cycle, and how complex the connection is. At least WeChat Pay and Alipay should be connected, which covers the great majority of users. You need a business license, a corporate bank account, the legal representative's ID card, a description of the business scenario, and similar materials. Some industries, such as healthcare, education, and virtual goods, need extra qualifications. Individually owned businesses can apply for some channels, but the permissions may be limited.
Submit a merchant onboarding application on WeChat Pay, Alipay, UnionPay, and similar platforms. Fill in business information and settlement information, and complete the contract review. Review usually takes 1 to 5 business days, and a first application may need extra materials. Under the service-provider model, Kandiantong can help with the application and speed up the process.
Technical connection
Integrate each platform's APP payment SDK so that payment can be started (passing the order number, amount, and product description), the user completes payment, an asynchronous callback or a synchronous return is received, the order status is updated, and then the goods are shipped or redeemed. Handle exceptions such as payment success, failure, timeout, and duplicate notifications carefully, and take care of idempotency and reconciliation.
Testing and launch
Use each platform's sandbox to test, and verify the full flow of payment, refund, and callback. After that is confirmed, switch to production and verify with a small real transaction. After launch, keep watching the payment success rate and the distribution of failure reasons, and handle exceptions in time.
On security, do signature verification, HTTPS transmission, and encryption of sensitive information. Reconcile on a regular schedule so funds do not diverge. Fee rates differ by channel and need to be weighed together.
